Massive update and great news!
I’ve had a big couple of months. My second novel has been sent off, all signed up with Allen & Unwin and the same team I had with Peta Lyre’s Rating Normal. It’s a strange thing to announce when I’ve known for ages! But the sharing of good news is always good, and everyone has been just lovely about it all.
The novel has been incredibly difficult to write, but also cleansing and healing. I am lucky my editing team, Kate and Jodie, are the best of humans and will help me when I falter. Danielle, my agent, always has my back, and I’m so much the stronger for her support. We all want Tearing Myself Together to be shared with the world, and 2022 will be an awesome year for that to happen!
Next? Well Growing Up Disabled in Australia is out, and has been doing SO WELL! Already gone to reprint! I’ve had the most wonderful and heartfelt responses from people. I couldn’t be more grateful.
I have events coming up, including two appearances at the Brisbane Writers’ Festival – one in person and one online. Book early! You can find them HERE.
But wait, there’s more! Like I said, I was lost in my own head with the novel, and struggling physically with medication shuffles. I started gaming with my son, and his new passion was for League of Legends. Being the person I am, it took hold, and I’m a wee bit excited about where this will lead me and all the people I’ve met. One of those people is MaxStout808. He’s is also a musician and music teacher… This is a winding path hey? But stick with me… So we had this idea. That idea took hold and suddenly we’re live streaming a writing and composition session on twitch, as you do! It was so much fun, and I’m really keen to finalise what we made and have another go. I’ll be putting the run downs on a new page here on my website. There are more ideas but I can’t share those yet 😉
Keep checking in – there’s much much more! Thanks for all the support so far, I couldn’t possible imagine the book world without you xxx
